Star Wars Battlefront’s Battle Of Jakku DLC Looks Appropriately Chaotic
When you envision an epic Star Wars battle between Rebels and the Empire you no doubt see blasters pew pewing every which way, X-Wings and TIE Fighters darting about overhead. A visually rich assault on the senses really.
Star Wars Battlefront’s first and most free DLC, the Battle of Jakku, is imminently due and promises a nice little lead-in to The Force Awakens.

Battle of Jakku takes place almost immediately after the win on Endor and show just why Jakku looks so darn desolate in The Force Awakens.
The DLC adds two new maps (three guesses where they are) but the major addition is Turning Point. It’s a 40 player sprawling bout of madness in which Rebels must capture one of three Imperial bases in order to unlock another for capture.
“At the edge of the map, the Empire has constructed a make-shift base as well as smaller fortifications strewn across the landscape,” explains lead level designer Dennis Brannvall on the official Battlefront site. “Following an emergency landing, the Rebels need to locate the enemy bases to attack and take control of them all.”
“There’s a David and Goliath theme to this,” says DICE concept artist Anton Grandert. “The epic, huge super structures of the Star Destroyers contrast against the tiny but brave Rebel soldiers fighting the Imperial forces.”
The Battle of Jakku DLC drops on December 8.
