RWBY: Grimm Eclipse Emerges From Shadows On To Steam Early Access
By now it’s safe to assume that you’ve heard of Rooster Teeth, the team behind the Halo machinima Red vs. Blue who now run a pretty prevalent YouTube Network. If you’ve ever heard of channels such as Funhaus or Achievement Hunter, you’ve probably heard of them. While they do tend to focus on gaming related content, they do produce some pretty good shows as well. This is where RWBY comes in.
RWBY is an animated web series created by the late Monty Oum which you should probably go familiarise yourself with right now.

One of the things RWBY is popular for is it’s incredibly choreographed fight scenes, which is one of the reasons fans of the series have been pleading for a game based on it.
Well it looks like their dreams are coming true. Rooster Teeth Games have released RWBY: Grimm Eclipse to Steam Early Access in order get as much community involvement in the game’s development as possible.
While Early Access isn’t always to best way to handle a games development, it is probably the only way to make a RWBY game. The series itself is already heavily influenced by its incredibly dedicated community, so it makes sense for the game to be treated the same way.
In it’s current state, there isn’t all that much to RWBY: Grimm Dawn but it is still in the early days of development. I sincerely hope that this game is able to capture the magic of the series in an enjoyable way. While I know most people would have wanted Platinum Games to handle this, it’s probably going to be far more interesting to see how the game develops with the involvement of the community.
You can see all the details for RWBY: Grimm Eclipse on its’ Steam Store page.
