Warner Bros Offers Full Refunds For Batman: Arkham Knight PC Regardless Of Hours Played
After five painful months of waiting for Batman: Arkham Knight on PC to be fixed and one interim patch, the game was finally re-released on Steam last week.
Warner Bros also announced some compensation for fans in that those who buy the game who have already bought it will get Batman: Arkham Asylum and Arkham City for free by December, as well as Team Fortress 2 skins and other goodies.
That may have been quite cool except for the fact that people are still complaining about the game’s performance and bugs despite all the time taken to fix it.

I myself decided to just play it because I had already spent money on it and could not get a refund. In my time with the game I discovered that it’s playable despite a few bugs, but unfortunately the game still plummets down to 40-50 frames when racing through the city or speeding along in the Batmobile.
Yet on console the game is a technical marvel, being completely fixed at 30fps without missing a beat. We said as much in our review of the game earlier this year.
In the midst of all these complaints Warner Bros given into consumers once again, and will be offering full refunds until the end of 2015 to all those who purchased the game regardless of the amount of hours people have played.
As you know Steam typically offers refunds for games that were bought within a period of 14 days and played for not more than 2 hours, although other cases are considered.
“We are very sorry that many of our customers continue to be unhappy with the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight. We worked hard to get the game to live up to the standard you deserve but understand that many of you are still experiencing issues,” said Warner Bros in a statement.
“Until the end of 2015, we will be offering a full refund on Batman: Arkham Knight PC, regardless of how long you have played the product. You can also return the Season Pass along with the main game (but not separately). For those of you that hold onto the game, we are going to continue to address the issues that we can fix and talk to you about the issues that we cannot fix.”
We don’t know if all retailers are offering this, but we do know that Greenman Gaming is thanks to a blog post from them. This is relevant because we’re sure that quite a few may have bought the PC version from their site in June given that it was on special for 40% off. I know I did.
I requested my refund today. I simply cannot justify paying what I did, even at 40% off, for this kind of service and this product, despite what a massive fan of Rocksteady and Batman I am. I own the Game of the Year editions of Arkham Asylum and Arkham Knight on Steam, and I hope to own Arkham Knight again one day.
It’s just a sad reality that I’ll probably only get it when it’s $10 or less on a Steam sale and completely fixed.
Go out and get a refund if you’ve finally given up on the game on PC, otherwise keep the faith and hope you’ll be rewarded for it.
It’s unclear whether you’ll still get your Batman: Arkham Asylum and Arkham City gifts if you opt to refund, but I’ll assume you won’t.
