New Legacy Of Kain Game May Be A Thing
Besides Nosgoth, an early 2015 asymmetrical multiplayer game which released on Steam, the Legacy of Kain series hasn’t had a full release since 2003 — a time period which included a cancelled Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game entitled Legacy of Kain: Dead Sun.
According to Tomb Raider and Legacy of Kain developer Crystal Dynamics, however, there is a chance of the game returning from the dead (ironically).

“It’s a 50/50 chance,” said Rise of the Tomb Raider senior designer, Michael Brinker of the chances of another game set in the Legacy of Kain universe. “We have in-house developers who really want to make that game.
“It’s interesting because people look back at our history and our franchises and see that we have some really iconic IPs,” said Brinker. “So gamers wonder ‘Where are they and what are they doing?’ Well, we’re always tossing around and talking about ideas. It really is 50/50.”
The Legacy of Kain franchise is owned by Square Enix, Crystal Dynamics’ parent company, so it would be possible for a new game to come out. However, whether Square Enix — whose expectations for their games are notoriously unrealistic — will allow it to happen is debatable, especially when Legacy of Kain: Dead Sun was cancelled after the game was expected not to meet their sales projections, despite the protestations of the staff involved.
