Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII Bolts On To Steam This December
When the Final Fantasy XIII series was announced to come to PC, it was met with quite a bit of hesitation. Besides the fact that they’re not the best Final Fantasy games was the least of people’s worries. Console ports to PC have been a very hit or miss affair, but so far these games haven’t been to bad. That is obviously disregarding XIII’s 60GB file size.
Last month Square Enix stated that they hoped to release Lightning Returns sometime in December. It is now confirmed final installment of the Final Fantasy saga that everyone loves to hate is finally making its way to Steam next month.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII will be releasing on Steam on the 10th of December and will include most of the DLC that appeared on consoles.
Here’s the kicker, the Steam release will not include the FFVIII Aerith schemata on release and no plans are in place for it to be made available in the future. Other than that, it looks like everything else will be available to Steam users. This includes the bonuses given from having XIII and XIII-2 saves present regardless of them being on your system or not.
It’s been a almost year since Final Fantasy XIII-2 came out on Steam, so it’s nice to be able to finally be able to finish up this infamous Lightning saga. One shouldn’t have to worry about the state of the port either, as there were notable improvements from the release of XIII to XIII-2 so Lightning Returns shouldn’t have a problem.
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII will be available on Steam on the 10th of December but, at time of writing, it hasn’t been priced on our Steam store. I would however expect it to be priced similarly to Final Fantasy XIII-2, which is R220.
