Suicide Squad First Official Image Revealed And It’s More Than You Might Have Expected
Warner Bros and DC have been pretty bold in the decision to make Suicide Squad the second film in its planned slate of various DC movies and having it release just five months after Batman v Superman but recently BvS has started to look more promising and even Suicide Squad looks to be taking a true to the source material yet unique approach to its band of misfits.
Director David Ayer has been slowly teasing the film’s production with teases here and there, most notably teases of Jared Leto’s Joker which culminated in last week’s reveal of the punk rocker Joker we saw last week. The jury’s still out on whether that’s a good look or not but Leto’s face certainly looks the part, give or take an idiotic forehead tattoo.

Over the weekend Ayer finally gave us a good look at the rest of the team and it’s a mixed bag but one that’s surprisingly overstuffed.
The Squad, officially known as Task Force X, was initially billed to comprise Will Smith as Deadshot, Jai Courtney and Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevigne as Enchantress, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag and Will Smith as Deadshot.
Then Ayer went ahead and did this:

In case you’rw wondering who the random extras are, let’s run through the full crew from left: Adam Beach as Slipknot, Captain Boomerang, Karen Fukuhara as Katana, Enchantress, Rick Flag, Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Adewele (no, not the guy from AC IV) Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc and Jay Hernandez as El Diablo.
The Squad has a rather street thug look about them and yet the costume design manages to exude each character’s general personality.
While there may be some debate over a few of the design choices, Deadshot, Harley Quinn and Katana are very true to the character designs from the comics.
Here’s a closer look:
As if that wasn’t enough, here’s a gander at Deadshot in full garb complete with face mask and his trademark eye-enhancement device that acts as a permanent scope.

Overall the costume design for Suicide Squad looks to be on point, now it’s just a matter of those actors bringing the character’s to life.
What are your thoughts on the Squad and the surprise additions?
