DC Comics’ Vixen Might Be Clawing Her Way Onto Your Screen This Year
Today, EGMR officially starts 2015, and by start I mean we awkwardly burst through the doors and act as if we’ve been here the whole time. But while we’re still getting into the flow of things, it’s nice to come back with a pocket full of good news. Now, last year (it’s still extremely strange to say that) I wrote about some of the new series DC will be making in the future, one that wasn’t on the list was a show about Vixen.
At the Television Critics Association, Arrow’s Marc Guggenheim (who is also spearheading this project) announced that an animated series based on DC Comic’s Vixen will be brought to CW Seed sometime during our spring (August-October). It will be based in the world that belongs to both The Flash and Arrow, so expect some special appearances by both, I guess. I suppose that could work, but we’ll have to see.
Vixen might be unknown to some of you but she has been doing the rounds since her first appearance back in 1981 (Action Comics #521). She’s not only been apart of the Justice League Unlimited, but she’s been a member of the Suicide Squad and Birds of Prey. So one could say she’s worthy of her new series, don’t you think?
Along with the announcement came two pieces of art (seen above) previewing what the show will probably look like, as well as letting us know a bit more about Mari Jiwe McCabe. She has some interesting powers, and obviously she’s an orphan, so she’ll probably be kicking all kinds of ass.
