You Should Watch HAWP
If you’ve got a couple of hours to kill, access to Youtube and want to laugh until your sides hurt, I’ve got something to make your Friday even better. Sorry, readers without Youtube.
HAWP is a web series created by Anthony and Ashly Burch that started its life on Destructoid while Anthony was still features editor there. They act as exaggerated versions of themselves for the sake of humour and sometimes to comment on industry trends, tropes and the societal impact of games. But mostly for the lols.

Each episode tends to cover a single game, though season finales often get ridiculous and mash up multiple games along with other pop culture gems. Shit’s hilarious, especially if you’ve played or at least know the gist of the games they feature. Did I mention Anthony wrote Borderlands 2? And Ash voiced Tiny Tina in it? Yep, talented family.
I don’t want to cover this whole page in videos so I’ll only embed the one episode above. If you enjoyed it, here are some of my other favourites:
- Professor Layton
- The Dark Knight
- A Brother In Need
- I Love Videogames
- Persona 3
- Heavy Rain
- Rhythm Heaven
Seriously though, just watch every episode. They have a playlist for every season up on the official HAWP Youtube channel. It shouldn’t take you more than 4 hours to get through all of it and they’ll be 4 of the best hours of your life.
