EGMR Unboxing: Mini-Review Of The Cooler Master V1200w Platinum PSU
The thing about kilowatt-rated power supplies is that the gaming market for them is very small since only a select few can afford Quad SLI or a TriFire setup.
The segment that uses these monster PSUs are the benchmarkers, overclockers and recently, cyptocurrency miners, who require beefy, high quality PSUs to power their multiple GPU mining rigs and cryptocurrency ASICs (ASICs are hardware specifically designed to perform a certain task, in this case “mine” cryptocurrency).

I think Cooler Master specifically aimed this PSU towards cryptocurrency miners since the marketing on the box caters towards increased efficiency which results in reduced electricity usage and cost after a few years of continuous running, something keenly valued by crytocurrency miners, like myself, who run their mining rigs for months at a time, with little downtime.
Below you can watch myself and Caz unbox the Cooler Master V1200w Platinum-rated power supply, and after you can also watch me use the power supply to run my own mining rig!
Even though I would sacrifice many goats to Cthulu to keep using this power supply to run my non-striking miners, we here at EGMR are inclined to love our readers and shower them with gifts hoping that they never leave us for someone else (WHO ARE THEY??!! WHY DON’T YOU LOVE US!!).
With thanks to Cooler Master SA we are giving away this review sample to one lucky reader. You can see the details of entry on the competitions page here.
And with that, I’m off to whip my miners back into shape, Marikana Style.
