Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Will Have A Smaller Game World
Borderlands is set to receive a sequel this yea. I say Borderlands because it is technically an in betweener set after Borderlands but before Borderlands 2. Say hello to Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.
Borderlands 2 was pretty massive but the Pre-Sequel takes place on a moon so you can’t really expect it to exist on as large a scale. The game will still be big but not as big as its canonically younger brother. In an interview with PC Gamer published last week Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford addressed how 2K Australia would be handling the project.

“It’s pretty big. I don’t think it’s going to be as big as Borderlands 2,” Pitchford said. “It might be as big, or a little bigger, than Borderlands 1. It might be kind of in between the two.”
While publisher 2K Games will ultimately determine how much to sell the game for, Pitchford said the game “should be priced correctly, so we’ll have to see what happens in the market and understand the actual total value proposition that’s being offered.”
Although most of the game takes place on Pandora’s notoriously H-shaped moon, Pitchford said that the Pre-Sequel will have diverse environments like its predecessors.
Would you be okay with a smaller game but coming at an appropriately smaller price? I certainly would be.
