BioWare Talks Homosexuality And Next-gen Regarding Next Mass Effect
BioWare currently has a team working on Dragon Age: Inquisition, due for release in September, while a separate team is hard at work on the next Mass Effect title for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
While we know nothing about the game and it hasn’t even been officially announced yet, BioWare is not skirting around the fact it exists. During a question-and-answer session following a PAX East panel this weekend, fans flooded developers with question about the new Mass Effect. they were tight-lipped about it but divulged a little bit here and there.

More about the actual development of the game and less about the game itself.
Asked if the next Mass Effect will allow for same-sex and inter-species relationships, the game’s writer Cathleen Rootsaert said, “We can’t divulge that. But, I’ll just say that inclusivity is part of the BioWare mandate. So, we do our best.”
Of course, fans also needed to know which platforms they can expect the game on.
“It’s kind of tricky to officially comment on that, but I mean, gen4 [being Xbox One and PlayStation 4] looks pretty awesome and Mass Effect’s an awesome-looking game,”art director Joel MacMillan said. This comment drew a rousing round of laughter from the audience.
So, Mass Effect 4 will be running on Frostbite 3 (much like Dragon Age: Inquisition) and will release on PS4, Xbox One and PC complete with same sex relationships.
At least, that’s what they’re saying when you read between the lines.
