Watch Dogs Looks Worse But Has More To Offer
Watch Dogs has had a graphical downgrade on PS4 and Xbox One. It’s not like the game suddenly looks as if it was designed for NES but it is noticeable. In fact, in its current visual state it has been compared to a less pretty version of GTA V. It’s still serviceable for your eyes but really nothing great. However, it seems that in all these months since the game was delayed Ubisoft Montreal has done more than bump the visuals down. They’ve also added some content.
Watch Dogs received a rating change in Australia which seemed odd considering it should still be the same game. Responding to a VG247 report, Ubisoft issued the following statement:
- You’ll Be Able To Play (Expensive) PS2 Games On Your PS4 Now | 2 months ago
- Jessica Jones Disempowers Its Male Characters And The Effect Is Refreshing | 2 months ago
- Hell Is 30 000 Deathclaws Tearing Through Boston And It’s Glorious | 2 months ago
- Sony Santa Monica Is Teasing Something Truly Strange | 2 months ago
“The entire development team has been working hard to polish and fine tune Watch Dogs in order to deliver a truly memorable open world game. In parallel, the extra time also allowed the team to include a bit of additional content.
“As per Australian classification guidelines, Ubisoft resubmitted the updated version with the added content to the Australian Classification Board (ACB). The decision to amend the rating of the game from MA15+ to R18+ was made by the ACB.”
No details have been given out regarding the added content but the rating was bumped up from MA15+ to R18+ due to scenes of implied sexual violence.
While some developers choose to omit planned scenes of implied rape it seems Ubisoft went the other way and tossed it in. Hopefully that’s not all they added because that would be a bit of a letdown and rather creepy.
