Do You Want Games To Challenge You?
With the release of Dark Souls II today, it seems like a fitting question to ask you, our loyal readers, whether you prefer games that offer up a sizeable challenge, or ones that allow you to sit back, relax and feel like an overpowered god.
For example, I crave games that offer challenges. I might not be on the Dark Souls level of things, but even most games I usually crank up to hard or expert, purely because a game that is too easy kills my immersion. On the other side of the coin, my cousin loves playing games that he’s really good at on obscenely easy levels, as the feeling of being virtually indestructible is the experience he craves from his gaming sessions. Neither are wrong, their just different.

So where do you fall on the spectrum. Do you like a moderate challenge that sometimes involves you dying or restarting a certain area, or do you notch things up so that when you finally clear a section it feels like a major accomplishment rather than a stepping stone?
Or do you just like Dark Souls? It’s fine, we’ll understand what you enjoy from games using that answer alone.
