Uncharted PS4 Loses Its Creative Director And Writer
We’ve heard next to nothing about the next Uncharted title, which is set to release exclusively on the PS4, but yesterday the creative director and writer of the title brought a ten year tenure at developer Naughty Dog to an end.
Amy Hennig, the creative director and writer on the Uncharted series, left Naughty Dog on Monday, although a few sources are claiming that it wasn’t her decision.

The same sources that first reported the now confirmed departure also suggested that Hennig was forced out by The Last of Us’ Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley, which could bring the Uncharted series under their control for the first time. If this is true, it certainly sounds rather bad for dealings over at Naughty Dog, who just forced out the person in charge of three of the best titles on the PS3.
Sony confirmed Hennig’s departure to media last night with the following statement.
“We can confirm that Amy Hennig has left Naughty Dog. Amy has made significant contributions to the game industry and we appreciate all she has done for Naughty Dog. The development timeline of Uncharted will not be impacted.”
Hennig was currently writing the new Uncharted title, although as stated by Sony her departure shouldn’t affect the timeline. Which probably means it’s all written, as least in a first draft form that can be tinkered with.
But what does it mean for the fourth Uncharted title? Could we see a change of direction now that the creative director has departed?
