Zampella Outlines Titanfall’s Mix Of Free And Paid DLC, With A Season Pass
For the past few days a lot of people have been confused about whether Titanfall will feature a Season Pass or not, and how Respawn would handle post-launch DLC. Vince Zampella hasn’t really been the best source for concrete news on this during the week, but yesterday the studio founder gave a more concise, direct answer.
Titanfall will feature a season pass for three map packs that will release after the game launches next week. On top of that, Respawn will release some free content that couldn’t make the launch of the game.

This includes private games and several game modes that Respawn has planned but just couldn’t get into the finished product by the time it went gold. These will be released free of charge, with only additional maps forcing you to fork out.
In total, Titanfall will feature three map packs priced at $10 each. The Season Pass will net you a $5 savings, offering all three packs for $25. Additionally, the Titanfall Digital Deluxe edition includes the game and the Season Pass for another $5 off, although this is only available through Origin.
Vince Zampella also confirmed that the Season Pass, and content, would only apply to the platform for which it was purchased. For some reason people thought this would change with the new online shooter.
Titanfall releases next week Friday for PC. We’re not getting the Xbox One version locally, and the Xbox 360 port will only come near the end of March, although it may not feature any additional map packs.
