Talking About Resolution Before Completing A Game Is Pointless – CD Projekt
The issue of resolution and frame-rate in newly released games has become such an issue that it’s coined its own term in “resolution-gate.” I just call it annoying. Of course, visual quality and graphical performance is not a non-issue but it is not cause for mass debate.
The Witcher 3 developer, CD Projekt Red seems to agree. The studio’s Michał Krzemiński has denounced debating framerates and resolutions prior to the completion of a game’s development as pointless.

It comes from an interview with gamesTM, in which the CD Projekt RED employee responded to a question regarding Witcher 3 resolution differences between formats.
He replied, “If you’re asking me to throw a rock in the PS4 vs. Xbox One resolution war, I won’t. The game is not finished and talking about resolutions [and framerates] is, I think, pointless.”
Personally, I can still enjoy a game running at 720p at 30 FPS. Yes, it would be better in 60 FPS but it really doesn’t shatter my experience. It might be disappointing if a developer promises a certain level of visual performance and doesn’t deliver but beyond that it doesn’t bother me.
