SA Indie Teams Up With Celestial Games For Montez
The South African indie scene is a thriving landscape with a constant stream of projects hitting the web, and Celestial Games are veterans of the SA indie scene. This past Saturday, 22 March, an interesting posted popped up on the Make Games SA forum, the local watering hole for SA indies.
The post revolved around news that indie dev Kobus Vd Walt was taking his prototype Montez and turning it into a full fledged game with the help of the guys over at Celestial Games. Travis Bulford, of Celestial Games, revealed the news and from the gameplay footage posted the game is shaping up to be fantastic.

Not much has been elaborated on in terms of the game’s story, but Montez is a puzzle platformer where you control two characters simultaneously. From the footage above, one can see that puzzles are solved by manipulating the two characters in near perfect unison, which adds challenge and diversity to the set of puzzles Kobus and Celestial Games can devise. From this standpoint, Montez could do a whole host of things. Visually, even at this early stage, the game is looking great and a couple of tweaks will really push this project further.
You can find out more about the game by following this link. On the site, you can play an online version of the prototype, or download the prototype for your OS of choice. There is no set release date yet, but from what I can gather the hope is that the game will be out this year. At the moment, all we can do is wait.
