Without fail each week seems to bring in some fresh reminder of how malignant this industry is and the and the bad effect the people running it can have on the games themselves. Often enough that filters through into the games themselves.
The good majority of games we play are decent fun at the very least. there’s some entertainment to be had.
Then there are games that are soulless, vacuous excuses for entertainment. Designed on a paint-by-numbers template to extract maximum money. Theoretically anyway.
Dungeon Keeper comes to mind.
Or perhaps a game was actually pretty great but it’s development and what it represents in the industry is enough to make you cringe. Team Bondi’s slave driving of its developers while creating L.A. Noire or the very existence of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes comes to mind.
It could even be that the game was developed well, it was great to play but then gamer entitlement and mindless backlash made you just want to delete the internet.
By now I think you can see what I’m getting at. Our question to you then is simple. Which game made you hate the industry?
