Which Game Made You Change Your Initial Opinion Of It?
Humans. We can be so changeable sometimes. Initial hype, honeymoon periods, expectations – there are many factors that can influence your thoughts about something when you first experience it.
I’m sure we’ve all had games in our pasts which we maybe thought were crap or beyond amazing on our first playthroughs or at one particular point in time, but later changed our minds about it.

Unless, of course, you’re one of those hardcore extremists who will never change your stance about anything, not even in the face of Armageddon. That Rorschach reference.
Today’s question is quite simple, but difficult to answer I believe. Which game made you change your initial opinion of it? And why?
For instance, I can recall BioShock: Infinite and all the insane hype it got, yet a while after the fact some of my friends later said that the gameplay wasn’t the greatest.
If I have to answer this question myself, I would have to say that, after thumb sucking, I can recall that I initially thought extremely highly about Mass Effect 2, but sometime after the fact I realised that it wasn’t really as good for me as I first thought. On the other hand, I became much more of a fan of Heavy Rain only at the end of the year in which it released, once I realised it was my Game of the Year.
I know I have quite a few other examples lurking around, but it’s your turn to answer.
