Explore A Not So Stunning Chicago With Watch Dogs
With the May release date fast approaching, Ubisoft is now in full gear trying to promote their new IP, Watch Dogs. The latest trailer “Welcome to Chicago” does a good job of showing you around, and just how much effort has been put into the recreation of this city.
Sadly though, it also highlights the graphical downgrade the game has experienced since we first saw it, although I’m sure Ubisoft did their best to keep the standards high while also increasing the scope of the title. There’s also a few more details to sort though. Watch Dogs will feature a dynamic weather system that affects which NPC’s are around the city or not. This is also affected by the game’s day/night cycle, which will make dodgy corners of Chicago even more dangerous when the sun goes down. I mean, thugs playing videogames? Scary.

Watch Dogs also has over 700 different cars for you to hijack and use as your own personal batmobile, with Aiden being a vigilante and all. Probably the most interesting aspect of Watch Dogs is also on display here, with every NPC having their own little back story and potential to commit a crime. There’s a little look at how multiplayer might work in this connected world as well, and it’s looking a lot like game invasion ala Dark Souls, which is pretty neat.
I’m still sceptical about Watch Dogs, but I would be lying if I said nothing in it appealed to me. Watch Dogs releases on Xbox One, PS4, P3, Xbox 360 and PC in May. Wii U is somewhere down the line too.
