EA Cancels All Local Titanfall Pre-Orders [Updated]
Update: EA South Africa has provided us with the following response after we questioned them about local availability of Titanfall.
“After conducting recent online tests for Titanfall, we found that the performance rates in South Africa were not as high as we need to guarantee a great experience, so we have decided not to release Titanfall there at this time. We understand this is a disappointment for local fans and will keep them posted on any future plans regarding the release of Titanfall in South Africa.”

Kalahari has also reportedly begun cancelling pre-orders. It’s not coming folks.
How about this for an early morning shocker. Thanks to Jan Botha, who tipped us for, we can now confirm that any orders placed via Origin for Titanfall have been cancelled by EA themselves, who seem to think that the game will not run efficiently enough locally at launch.
Customers who pre-ordered the title have received emails saying that their order has been cancelled, and that they will be refunded. The game has also been removed from the Origin store.
I’d like to point out that this has been done a week before launch. One week.

Curious, I checked the Origin Store, where I found no sign of Titanfall on the front page. After searching for the game, Origin came up with no results, meaning that the game really isn’t coming here. Thing is, what does that mean for physical copies of the title?
We will reach out to EA South Africa and confirm whether or not they are still expected to release next week, or if the whole of South Africa will just not get Titanfall at launch. Would be unbelievable if that ends up happening.
