Don’t Worry, Cyberpunk 2077 Is Still On Track
Yesterday we told you about the bittersweet delay the The Witcher 3 had hit, as CD Projekt RED aims to create the perfect ending to their RPG franchise. The delay has pushed the game back by a few months, and a lot of people wondered whether this would affect the studio’s next project, Cyberpunk 2077.
Yesterday, CPR confirmed that Cyberpunk was still on track and on schedule, even though a release date is yet to be announced.

Apparently a separate studio within CD Projekt RED is developing Cyberpunk, meaning the Witcher 3 delay literally has no effect on their future project. CD Projekt Red CEO Marcin Iwinski had this to say in an interview yesterday.
“Cyberpunk 2077 is developed by a separate team within CD Projekt Red, so the development of Cyberpunk 2077 is not really affected.”
He did note that developers regularly bounce between projects, as is typical with a studio such as this, but apparently even this facet of development won’t lead to a delay to the game. If anything, locking down core elements and mechanics could, as well as final polish.
But considering Cyberpunk 2077 is still years away, we might not get wind of this until we’re months away. Hell, we haven’t even seen the game in action yet. So a lot can change from now until then. That said, I think we can all say that we have the absolute faith in CD Projekt RED and their process.
