Diablo III Is Coming To PS4, But Blizzard Isn’t So Sure About The Xbox One
Blizzard has revealed that they are currently developing their action-RPG for both the Xbox One and PS4, but the studio still isn’t sure if the former will ever release.
In what sounds like one of the weirdest development cycles ever, lead producer Alex Mayberry explained that while they are actively working on a version of the game for the Xbox One, they’re not going to confirm its release just yet. Primarily because they don’t know if it will ever launch.

“I can’t confirm it at this point, as I don’t have a release date, at all for that. The way we develop, it’s as if there will be an Xbox One version, but until it’s announced there’s nothing official.”
Following that odd comment, Mayberry wen on to tell PS4 players to expect the dungeon crawler sooner rather than later, suggesting that development was nearing an end on Blizzard’s next-gen debut. Speaking on some of the changes and enhancements headed to the PS4, Mayberry had this to say.
“It’s being worked on. I don’t have any release dates to announce, but it’s not far behind. They kind of have to wait for the PC side to wrap before they can completely finish, but they’ve been in parallel development with us the whole time. As we developed on the PS, they pulled it into the console version and then they make it work. So they’re still in the process of wrapping up that side of things, as they’ve had to wait for us to finish up. It won’t be long, but I can’t give an exact date as we still need to go through certifications.
“Our goal when developing on the console side is to not just port the game over. We want it to feel crafted for that console. Certainly the user interface will be completely retooled for the console side of things, but their also looking at a number of features that’d be different from the PC side. I can’t go into details though.”
Earlier Blizzard confirmed that characters from the PS3 version of the game would be transferable to the PS4 version of the game, although I’m not sure anyone in their right mind would buy the game twice. Diablo is really good after that Loot 2.0 update, but not that good.
