Developers Can Now Create Custom Sales On Steam
Steam sales know no creed or colour or race or religion. They devastate all bank accounts unilaterally. Valve has released a new set of developer tools which means that devs can attack at any time and tempt your wallet with the sweet siren sounds of sales and discounts.
Developers will be able to set custom sale periods and opt in to upcoming weeklong sales.

According to an image of the announcement sent out to developers and posted to Reddit, to participate in weeklong deals, a developer can select from the upcoming promotions, up to two months ahead of time, and just enter the desired discount percentage.
Steam sales are a double-edged sword in many ways.
Q-Games, for example, doubled its lifetime income on the PC version of PixelJunk Eden after the game was featured in a flash sale as part of the 2013 Steam holiday sale.
However, the flip side is that so many gamers have settled into a mindset of “I’ll wait for a Steam sale.”
The upside arguably outweighs the downside but how will the dynamic shift with individual developer sales popping up?
