The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Xbox 360 Footage Surfaces, And It Looks Awkward
We haven’t seen a whole lot of Beenox’s upcoming The Amazing Spider-Man 2 game, which will tie in with the movie but not really follow it. However, while Spidey fans like myself are eager to see the character make his web-slinging debut on the new generation of consoles, not much attention has been given to the previous generation and we kind of all just knew it was there.
That is, until this gameplay footage surfaced showing off the Xbox 360 version, and it honestly looks awkward. Awkward in a way that makes me worry about this game as a whole, and not just from a graphical standpoint. Not only does it look really similar to Beenox’s first attempt with The Amazing Spider-Man, but the mechanics particularly with combat just seem to lack any kind of fluidity or grace that you’d find in the Batman games by Rocksteady, which is what it was apparently inspired by.

Hopefully the game ends up being decent, because The Amazing Spider-Man was enjoyable. But Beenox has yet to truly make a great Spider-Man game, and for me their best attempt is still Shattered Dimensions, which I found to be a good game full of colour and nerd-satisfaction.
Honestly though. Ask any Spidey fan. Is it really that much to ask to make the swinging awesome?
