WTF Is Wrong With Warner Bros Montreal? DLC Over A Broken Game? Really?!
This is one of those occasions when I really lament not having purchased a webcam or other recording device yet, because right now I really just want to get in front of a camera and have a gold old Jim Sterling / Angry Joe inspired rant.
Warner Bros Montreal, WTF is wrong with you guys? Seriously.
For those who don’t know, and how could you not since we reported on it just a few hours ago, Warner Bros Montreal revealed that they will be working on downloadable content for Batman: Arkham Origins, a game that was already a lukewarm success if at all. When quizzed about fixing the game itself, they said that no patch work was currently underway and if in future it happens, it will only be for the game-breaking glitches.
Wait, so, let me get this straight. They know about the game-breaking glitches and they’re opting to make DLC instead?
Is this some publisher influence thing or does Warner Bros Montreal have its priorities, for lack of a more suitable word, fucked?
You do not release DLC for your games when they are not completely functional, you fucking ingrates. You do not ask us to pay you even more money when you’ve not fully earned the money that we’ve already paid you. I know of a few people who’ve reached impasses in the game and therefore cannot continue any further, because of this, that or the other glitch. They’ve paid for a game that they cannot play to completion.
And now Warner Bros Montreal has the audacity, the sheer gall to throw DLC in our faces?
Fuck you, Warner Bros Montreal.
I have my copy of Batman: Arkham Origins still awaiting me; I’ve not started it and now I honestly feel so turned off from it that I doubt I will, and I was actually considering playing it next. Why should I, now? What if I encounter some game-breaking glitch? Am I supposed to console myself with downloadable content that has Mr fucking Freeze in it, as if he’s the most important character in all of Gotham?
You know what? If Batman existed in the gaming industry, this is exactly the kind of bullshit that he would fight against. The developers over at Warner Bros Montreal would be strung upside down, hanging from the ceiling right now. Commissioner Gordon would be looking at the offices and scratching his head and justice would get its day.
This is not justice. This is not what Batman would have wanted. And this is not fair to paying customers.
So to Warner Bros Montreal I say, thank you for showing us just how little you value your fans. Thank you for curbing to publisher demands, if that is what this is. We know you have to put food on the table and you guys are really passionate about what you do, but you have bitten the hand and as any basic human being will tell you:
You never, ever bite the hand.
*drops mic and walks away*
