What’s The Best Game To Play When You’re Sick?
I was recently sick, nothing a small overdose on multiple pharmaceuticals couldn’t remedy over the course of a weekend, but sick nonetheless. No, this is not going to turn into me whining about how broken I felt or how I struggled to focus properly due to a devastating migraine but this is going somewhere.
Gaming is great for relaxation and destressing. Anybody who’s had a sick day during high school probably used as much of that day as possible for gaming. However, games require you to focus and have a semblance of co-ordination and/or reaction time.

It was around the time that the words on my phone began to swim ever so slightly that I had the inclination playing Tomb Raider might prove somewhat difficult. I fired up the game anyway because what does my better judgement know?
I immediately regretted it. Those faux 3D menus were trippy and the game itself was awful. Make no mistake, had I been of sound mind I would have been loving it but I wasn’t so I couldn’t. The game requires you to focus, I couldn’t really. Better still, aiming was a little hilarious.
Predictably, I gave up. Fired up Assassin’s Creed IV. Switched off my mind. Stabbed lots of things and sailed around the Caribbean.
I just about never get sick but I’m sure the rest of you mortals catch something pretty often. Usually STDs or influenza I suppose. So what game have you found to be the best for a day’s worth of rest and recuperation when you don’t have your full faculties on hand?
