PS4 Owners Download Outlast Now, ‘Whistleblower’ DLC Confirmed For April
Red Barrels Games has confirmed that Outlast’s first DLC pack, Whistleblower, will be out in April for PC and PS4.
The Whistleblower pack will act as both a prequel and in a few ways a sequel, as it allows players to explore Mount Massive asylum in the months leading up to the events of the game, as well as see what happened after the conclusion.

“Whistleblower will let you play as Waylon Park, a software engineer under contract with Murkoff and the man who emailed journalists around the world – including Miles – at the beginning of Outlast,” the studio posted on its Facebook page.
“Spending a couple of weeks at Mount Massive, during which he was unable to even talk to his wife and son in Boulder thanks to strict security protocols, Weylon developed a deep-seated distrust of the profit-motivated scientists and doctors leading dangerous and irresponsible experiments on their patients.
“Identifying with those poor souls fueled Weylon’s anger, and set the stage for his unmasking of Mount Massive’s rotten core.”
According to Red Barrels, the events of Whistleblower will occur, as I said above, both before and after the main game, taking in the “final chapter” of the Mount Massive Asylum’s story.
Now, I’d advise all PS4 owners out there to download Outlast now while it’s free on PS Plus. While I’m personally not one for DLC, I really love Outlast and am starved for horror at the moment, so I might take the plunge if the price is reasonable.
Otherwise, be sure to read my review to see why Outlast is a must.
