Infamous Second Son Is Smaller Than You’d Expect
Gamers have been quite concerned about hard drive space on the new consoles ever since titles like Killzone: Shadow Fall were revealed to be 50GB downloads, and the Xbox One was revealed to have in the region of 360GB of its space available for use.
Sony has now confirmed how much space Infamous Second Son will require on your PS4 hard drive, and surprisingly it’s less than you’d expect from a major exclusive.

Infamous Second Son will require 24GBs of hard drive space for its mandatory installation.
Sony confirmed this when revealing a picture of the game’s official box art. Of course, the back of the game box reveals its HDD requirements.
For some comparisons, the hard drive space required by Infamous Second Son is more or less in line with the average PS4 game. Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag needed 21.2GB and DC Universe Online asked for 22.7GB, while the largest PS4 launch games were NBA 2k14 at 41.8GB, Killzone Shadow Fall at 38.5GB and Knack at 35.6GB.
Disc-based PS4 titles require mandatory installations, as do Xbox One titles, but fortunately on PS4 you can start playing in under a minute for all titles so far.
Infamous Second Son will be out on March 21 for PS4, and will be the console’s first major exclusive outside of launch.
