Halo 5 Only Coming Next Year According To Master Chief
A little while ago a tipster on NeoGAF leaked a plethora of information regarding the Xbox One and its title. Among that news was a rather curious piece of information that suggested Halo 5 would only be releasing next year, despite Microsoft’s claims that put the game in a 2014 launch window.
Now, Master Chief himself has said that the game will only be ready for next year, but that halo fans will have something to looking forward to this year still.

Master Chief voice actor Steve Downes spoke to GameZone recently, saying that the expectation that Halo 5 would release this year is a bit misguided. At the same time, Downes also took the chance to confirm that Halo 2 Anniversary would launch this year, a whole ten years after the original release. This has not been confirmed by Microsoft, but is widely believed to be true.
“I think you may be ahead of yourself on Halo 5. I wouldn’t expect anything until 2015.”
When questioned about whether Xbox fans would get halo this year, a Microsoft representative could only confirm that a “Halo Journey” would begin this year, and nothing more. This does suggest that we’re getting a Halo title in some capacity in 2014, but right now it seems like Anniversary is the more likely candidate.
If Microsoft is struggling to meet the end of year deadline for Halo 5, then they should just let it slip over into the New Year. Right now the Xbox One hasn’t even launched in all of its regions yet, and it will probably only do so by the end of the year. Having a new Halo game to compliment this would be good for business, but if that Halo game is not up to scratch it could back fire spectacularly.
Its fine Microsoft, we can wait.
