Cooler Master CM Storm Mech Keyboard Review: Premium Has A Price
If you have read any of my previous keyboard reviews you will no doubt peg me as a gamer who thoroughly enjoys using mechanical keyboards. I openly admit my disdain for anything other than mechanical keyboards for desktop-based gaming accessories. You will undoubtedly expect me to uncritically give this mechanical keyboard my unwavering praise and adoration based purely on my predilection towards mechanical keyboards…and you would be correct. Ten “Whose Line Is It Anyway” points for you.
However, before you cash in your points for condemning this supposedly uncritical stance, please don’t confuse my involuntary appreciation of mechanical keyboards in general for anything more than a well-placed love of the technology, as opposed to the the actual branded incarnations which use that technology.

Enter the Cooler Master CM Storm MECH keyboard, a mechanical keyboard from the AL or Aluminium Series of peripherals released last year under the CM Storm banner.
Watch the unboxing video that myself and Caz did to get an overview of the keyboard, its specifications, and its features.
What follows is the in-depth review of my time using the keyboard for gaming, typing and generally just fiddling around with it. This keyboard has some amazing specifications, features and unconventional customisation along with a unique look and feel that just screams “Premium” in your face. We are definitely not in Keyboard Kansas anymore. As for pricing, this keyboard will dent your wallet in a big way, requiring around 2,000 of your hard earned Rands to enter the Aluminium Club. People will rightfully scoff at this price, as the MECH has a lot to prove to justify that price premium. So then the question is whether it is a good gaming keyboard, and does it deliver a premium experience for the gamer?
