You Won’t Believe The Size Of Dead Rising 3’s Latest Patch
Patch is not a euphemism for penis, and no that’s not what she said. Glad we got that out of the way first.
Want to take any guesses? I don’t blame you if you’re wrong. My initial guess was far off when I first got wind of the fact that the zombie Xbox One launch title, Dead Rising 3, had a huge update.

Is your heart ready for this? Alright then, here we go.
Capcom has just released a ginormous 13GB patch for Dead Rising 3. And here’s the funny part: no official changes have been revealed.
So, does this patch come with Dead Rising 1 and 2 by any chance?
Your mind is probably well at work thinking Capcom must have basically fixed the entire game and added like a new texture pack or something, but that’s not it really.
According to reports coming from official Dead Rising 3 forums and the trusty Reddit, this 13GB update is just the first part of a four part DLC that is due for release.
Essentially, you are downloading massive amounts of DLC content even if you never use it. On the other hand, gamers are reporting that this 13GB patch does not add to the overall game size, so surely it must make some game changes too? We’ll see when the changelog goes up.
When gamers asked whether this patch will eat up 13GB of hard drive space after installation, Xbox Studio Manager, Mike Ybarra said: “It’s different for each game. If it’s added DLC then likely yes (but they aren’t big). If it’s patches, then no.”
To think we were spazzing out about game sizes when we heard that Killzone: Shadow Fall would be 50GB on the PlayStation Store. Now there are damn patches that are 13GB in size. That’s like an entire game right there.
