Witcher 3 Is Impossible On PS3 and Xbox 360 According To CD Projekt
The Witcher 3 is among the most anticipated games of 2014 but the catch is that at present it’s only releasing on PS4, PC and Xbox One. However, CD Projekt Red CEO Marcin Iwinski says the game is possible on PS3 and Xbox 360 though it would be a very different experience.
Think of it as being the standard gorgeous open-world game that’s also a great RPG but stripped down slightly. It would also have to take place in a smaller world, with longer load times, it wouldn’t be as pretty either.

“It’s impossible. It would have to be a different game–a smaller game, not an open-world game, or with terrible loading times, with sacrifices in graphics,” CEO Marcin Iwinski toldMCV India.
Iwinski also cleared up any rumours regarding The Witcher 2 coming to PS3.
“We definitely would have loved to, but The Witcher 2 on PC was so big that making it work on Xbox 360 took us a year,” he said. “The Xbox 360 was a more powerful and easier-to-code-on platform than PS3, so that would have taken us another year or year-and-a-half.”
Finally, Iwinski said the difference in quality between the Xbox One/PS4 version of The Witcher 3 and the PC iteration is “not huge” because the new consoles are “actually brand new PCs.”
“So I think gamers on each platform will get an extremely good experience and they should be very satisfied with the quality,” he said.
It’s a damn shame but you have to appreciate the honesty in not creating a buggy version for previous-gen consoles.
