Which Is Your Preferred In-Game Era?
To clarify, we are not discussing which era of gaming provided you the most amount of glee as in the time of the PlayStation 2 as opposed to the interval of the PlayStation 3, but rather the 1940’s when compared to science fiction.
The world itself went through so many phases; each with its own sense of style, behavior and characteristics.

We have had games taking place across a vast spectrum of time and space ranging from the medieval times, the early twentieth century and all the way through the space battling future where inter-species copulation is nothing more than you typical craving for a cup of coffee in the early hours of the day.
This is but one of the many reasons why I am a behemothic devotee of fiction. We’re able to take an era that has long since passed and intertwine it with our own story and characters. Game developers have even brought us their own version of what they think the future will hold/look like. See Mass Effect for the more severe example and Call of Duty Black Ops II for the more not too distant, realistic and militarised depiction.
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is most probably my favourite game that takes place during the aforementioned medieval times. The Godfather and BioShock being my favourite games taking place in the 1940 to 1950 era where fedoras, ridiculously lengthy cigarette filters and Thompson machine guns reigned above all else – on a side note, these games inspired my love for antiques. The 1980’s and the corresponding drug-riddled massacres can be experienced in both Grand Theft Auto Vice City and Hotline Miami. These are but a few examples on a list as protracted as Route 66.
The time has come for you to steal the limelight and tell us all about your favourite in-game era(s) in gaming? (Remember the tantalising details.)
