Which Game Cancellation Broke Your Heart?
Earlier this week we shared the news with you all that Disney has abandoned Star Wars 1313, failing to renew the trademark entirely. Now the positive that could come from this is that someone else picks up the trademark and makes the game we all want, however since Disney still owns the Star Wars license, that’s not likely.
In any case, the news was a harsh reminder that we nearly had a Star Wars game that could’ve competed with the best — or at least looked as if it could in terms of visuals. It seems as if the game development world just isn’t interested in trying anything that isn’t about the Jedi and Sith war, anymore. Perhaps investors, like most of the so-called self-proclaimed ‘Star Wars geeks’, only know of those and have no interest in the rest of the richly crafted universe.

Unfortunately that means we all remain eagerly awaiting a true successor to Star Wars: Republic Commando, the last really great Star Wars title not involving the Jedi or Sith. I suppose we can take comfort in the knowledge that BioWare are working on a Star Wars game; after all, they gave the world KOTOR.
Our question for you all today is pretty straightforward. What game were you really looking forward to, and then had your world shattered to hear that it was cancelled? For me, it would almost definitely be Heroes. I loved that series so much, and I was really looking forward to Volume 6. Wait, what? Games. Right. Tell us all about yours in the comments.
