Fight To The Death In This Game From Ex-Titanfall Developers
A small group of developers who have worked on such huge games as Call of Duty titles, Titanfall and God of War have banded together to create a new game called To The Death. Also, it’s a Kickstarter project.
The game itself features two ago-old rivals who have taken their battle beyond the grave. How it works is that each level starts as a 2D shooter with the warriors separated by a great distance. As they run toward each other you’ll mow down enemies earning power-ups and upgrades before reaching your rival. Thereupon the game switches to being a beat ’em up/ fighter as the two lock horns.

It sounds pretty fun, you can check out the Kickstarter promo video up top.
What’s more interesting is the pedigree behind this game. To The Death’s lead game designer is Todd Alderman, who previously worked for Infinity Ward as lead game designer on Call Of Duty 2, Modern Warfare 1 and 2, and Titanfall. The lead software engineer, Francesco Gigliotti, can be accredited for Call of Duty’s gameplay and claims to be “directly responsible for the player controls which have become the industry standard for first-person shooters on consoles”. Art direction will be handled by Section Studios creative director Cecil Kim, who was an artist on God Of War 1, 2, 3 and Ascension.
The Kickstarter goal is set at $400 000 which will see the game release on Steam for PC, Linux and Mac. A stretch goal of $750 000 will get it onto PS Vita and PS4. Check it out here.
