DriveClub Delayed Again
Of course there were always going to be problems when Sony announced a game with a # in its name. Seriously, why would you call your game #DriveClub? Jokes aside, DriveClub was intended to be a launch title for the PS4 but was delayed for unknown reasons.
It’s funny because it was announced with the PS4 and touted greatly by Sony for its social features. It never really captured anybody’s attention with Forza 5 and even The Crew being amongt the “next-gen” racers. In fact, the only reason I paid any attention to the game was because it got delayed. Now we’re giving it some attention again because, you guessed it, the game has once again been delayed.

The shifted release date was scheduled to be February 22 which would line up perfectly with the Japanese release of PS4. Website Inside Games quotes the press release as saying the game was delayed for “various circumstances.”
That includes alien invasions, flooding and bear attacks.
Then again, that Feb 22 release only applied to Japan with the date for everyone else still TBD but guaranteed to be “early 2014.” Perhaps Japan is just losing out in favour of a later worldwide release date. Or the game could have been delayed for everyone till even later in the year.
“DriveClub will be a truly innovative, socially connected racing game,” Sony‘s Shuhei Yoshida wrote last fall, “but the team requires more time in order to deliver on their vision—and I’m fully confident the game will surpass your expectations.”
It’s laughable really. What was intended as a launch title now has an undetermined release date.
