Disney Has Abandoned Star Wars 1313

Remember Star Wars 1313? The incredibly promising Star Wars title about bounty hunters rather than Jedi, the same game that was later revealed to be a Boba Fett game. Well, the game was always up in the air when Disney closed down the LucasArts game studio. Even after rumours persisted that it had been cancelled many of us clung to the hope that it might still be picked up by one of EA’s affiliated studios.
Unfortunately, late last year Disney failed to renew the trademark and now the US Patent and Trademark Office lists Star Wars 1313 as, “Abandoned because no Statement of Use or Extension Request timely filed after Notice of Allowance was issued.”

That’s it then. We have Battlefront 3, whatever Star Wars game DICE is working on and hopefully an RPG from BioWare but no Star Wars 1313. That dream is dead. Still, the assets, however scant they may be could be repurposed for a new project.
