The World’s First Next-Gen Murder
Oh, isn’t it exciting? Our first bit of gaming related crime pertaining to the PS4. Actually, it’s quite terrible and I’m just more than a tad twisted. It’s the sad story of a man simply looking to sell his PS4 who was instead robbed and shot because the PS4 is really worth it. Right?
On Sunday, a man met with a buyer for his PS4 in the Bayview District of San Francisco. Later that afternoon he found himself being admitted to San Francisco General Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds where he later passed away.

Law enforcement officials said the victim met the suspect, described as an adult male, online after posting an advertisement for the PS4 on Instagram. When they met up to complete the sale, the suspect shot the victim while he was still in his car with his girlfriend despite giving up the console willingly, according to local news outlet KTVU.
“I don’t know that it’s unique to PlayStation or anything else,” Lt. Tim Plyer said. “People do robberies, and I don’t know why this one transpired, but we’ll do all that we can to investigate it.”
Simply reading the course of events, this whole affair is disgusting. There was absolutely no need to kill the man. More pertinently, why was this man selling his new PS4?! I kid, just my attempt to brighten up morose tale of senseless violence.
