The movie will star Ben Foster, Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Toby Kebbell and Rob Kazinsky.
Foster has appeared in X-Men: The Last Stand and HBO’s comedy series Six Feet Under, while Fimmel is best known for his role in the historical TV drama The Vikings.
Moving along, Patton has featured in Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol and Baggage Claim, and Kebbell has made an appearance in the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time movie.
Lastly, Kazinsky has appeared in TV series’ such as True Blood and EastEnders, and also featured in Pacific Rim.
Universal Pictures is also apparently in the final stages of negotiating with Captain America star Dominic Cooper for his potential appearance in the film.
For some extra bit of trivia, the Warcraft movie was first announced all the way back in 2006. It was originally meant to be directed by Sam Raimi, the man behind The Evil Dead and Spider-Man, before Duncan Jones was confirmed as the director earlier this year.
Industry sources had previously tipped Colin Farrell to play the leading role in the movie, but it appears as though he’s no longer tied to it.
Director Duncan Jones revealed at Blizzcon that the Warcraft film adaption will trace the origins of the human and orc conflict, and will star characters Lothar and Durotan in leading roles.
