Even Crytek Can’t Do Breast Physics Correctly in Ryse
Technically speaking, we’ve come a long way in terms of character physics and movements, to the point where there are games rendering and applying forces to singular strands of hair on some characters. One thing that this industry cannot manage to nail though is boob physics, and Crytek seems to have taken this misunderstanding to new heights in Ryse.
During the campaign of the next-generation Roman hack and slash title, protagonist Marius comes across a Goddess who apparently divulges some pretty important information concerning his family. It’s apparently supposed to be an emotionally charged sequence in the game, but all that everyone can focus on is what the hell is happening on the Goddess’ chest, and it’s not at all sexy.

It’s comical almost, to the point where the physics make her barely covered breasts (again, why?) move almost like the cloth that she is dressed in. It’s highly distracting and destroys the entire scene really, which is a shame considering reviews suggest these types of narrative strong sequences are few and far between.
Still, it’s good for a laugh or two, especially because it’s Crytek. Seems like all the polygons in the world can’t help that mess.
