Steam Machine Prototype Looks Like An Xbox One
Valve is set to release it’s Steam Machines next year along with Steam OS and its unique Steam Controller. We have yet to fully see Steam OS in action but the Steam controller looks pretty darn convincing as an input device in action. Now you can get an idea of what the Steam Machines will look like.
On the inside you’ll find what is essentially a gaming PC of varying power depending on whether you’re looking at the upper, middle or bottom tier model with the idea of being a PC for your living room.

The final exterior design will be dependent on which model you opt for, yours could prioritise performance whilst others will focus on lower costs and small form factor.
Prototype units are currently being sent out for beta testing and well, it looks more like a console than a PC. More specifically, it looks like something between an Xbox 360 and Xbox One. These prototypes are “high-end, high-performance” boxes built using off the shelf PC parts and might give an indication of what size you can expect the top of the range Steam Machine to be.
