Looks Like Sony Is Serious About A Film Adaptation Of The Last Of Us
There have been rumours popping up here and there about the possibility of a film adaptation of one of this year’s best games. While we’re still waiting for the next chapter in The Last of Us to release, Sony seems to be going full steam ahead with the film adaptation.
I say this mainly because the company has filed for the registration of two website domains, namely TheLastOfUs-Movie.com and TheLastOfUsMovie.net.

Ok, so that’s not the most solid proof by any standard nowadays, but it definitely is something that we can poke and prod. The domains were definitely registered by an employee with a Sony Pictures email address, so there’s not much going for the invalidity of this filing.
Of course, this could just be a move to protect the brand, and stop anyone from registering the domains for themselves. But since this isn’t the first time we’ve heard of a possible movie adaptation I highly doubt this was done solely as a defensive move.
The question is, do we really need a film adaptation of Joel and Ellie’s tale? Do we even want one?
I think not.
