What Does The Gaming Industry Need Most Right Now?
What the world needs now is love, sweet love…
Unfortunately, the gaming industry isn’t of this world. It stems from some darker corner of the universe and so its needs are a little different.

Recently, there has been a bit of talk around the office* regarding what the gaming industry needs. Nothing definitive or absolute or even in terms of looking to the future. Rather the words “gaming industry” and “needs” have just come up in the same sentence a few times.
Caveshen recently outlined why Call of Duty is an important part of the gaming industry. Azhar, despite his recent urge to punch David Cage in the face, maintains that Cage is a necessary part of the industry for his vision of a game that handles mature themes and complex narratives like few attempt to whilst also playing out like an interactive movie.
Both have clear and obvious flaws but they are necessary parts of the industry. Juvenile delinquents such as Phil Fish may even be considered as necessary evils.
Personally, I don’t know what the industry needs right now. Certainly no clue what it requires to keep moving forward or progress as a form of entertainment and art.
So that’s our question to you today. What does the gaming industry need most right now?
