300 PS3 Games Coming This Christmas
The last time I got creative by calling Christmas “Jesus’ birthday” things didn’t end so well so I’m going to refrain from any and all creative liberties from now on. Actually, the prospect sounded like a lot of effort, screw it. Before we address that juicy headline, here are some raw stats about the PS3.
Since it first launched in Japan on 11 November 2006, the PS3 has sold over 80 million units. That’s more than 10 million a year for those of you not of an arithmetic mindset. Quite astounding is the figure of 4 332 games releasing on the console over the past seven years. That’s excluding digital-only titles mind you. How many of those are Platinum, Classic or GotY editions is a valid question though.

Of course Sony also touted the successes of Journey and The Last of Us.
Shifting the focus to PSN, the service apparently has more than 150 million registered accounts as of September 19, 2013. These users have access to more than 222,000 pieces of “digital content”, 72,000 of which are “game content” as of October 31.
With PS4 quite literally upon us you’d think the PS3 would pass on the torch. No, not a chance. An additional 300 titles are set to release on PS3 over the Christmas period. What these games are or where they come from is apparently not important.
They could be 300 variations of Blackwater or some equally horrid game. It’s one of those cases where you have more questions than you came in with, isn’t it?
