Reality TV, Now On Your Xbox One
TV, sports, TV, sports, TV, sports. Remember that mantra that Microsoft was practically chanting in May at the Xbox One reveal event? Well, the oft-joked about feature of your Xbox providing you with TV service may be taking shape with Xbox Entertainment set to bring plenty of original series and content to your Xbox One. That might even include a revival of Heroes but I’m just speculating.
Xbox Entertainment was set up to produce original interactive programming for Xbox One, and has reportedly greenlit a new project: an unscripted series about street soccer named Every Street United. Could this tie into FIFA games perhaps?

According to a report from Deadline, each 30-minute episode of Every Street United will feature “the greatest undiscovered local street soccer players” from around the world. At the end of the eight episode run, the best of the amateur best will then face each other in a match at the 2014 World Cup.
Every Street United is reportedly being developed by Mandalay Sports Media, which has worked with the NBA, ESPN and AOL to produce sports-centric documentaries and films.
That, to me, sounds like something that I might actually watch. Consider also that there’s a live-action Halo series in production produced by Steven Spielberg and earlier this year Microsoft was rumoured to be interested in reviving the Heroes TV series.
It’s still a great punchline but TV and sports might actually turn out some great content for the Xbox One.
