Which Game Character Gave You The Biggest Fright?
Obvious question for today, isn’t it? What with it being Halloween and all.
Some of you might have had quite the fright today. Maybe you discovered that you’re going to be a parent soon, yet you’ve been using protection. Maybe your partner ended things entirely out of the blue. Maybe you both went to a movie and enjoyed it, then came back to the car and discovered it wasn’t there. Maybe it was there and you ended up getting hijacked on the way home.

What, wrong kind of scary?
Fine. We can talk about headless horsemen and jack o lanterns then. You’ve probably seen a few places online where they’ve asked you for your scariest game character. We think that’s an easy one, but you’ll have to wait for our 5pm article to find out the answer. No, we’re rather asking you which game character was responsible for giving you the biggest fright.
It doesn’t even have to be in a scary game. I think the hardest I ever jumped while playing a game was in Half-Life 2 during the chapter ‘We Don’t Go To Ravenholm…’ when Father Gregori and I were fighting those howling headcrabs that run along rooftops and one of them took me by surprise. That said, it doesn’t necessarily have to be a jump-scare. Maybe it was the character’s demeanour, posture, design or dialogue that got to you. Maybe it was something entirely different.
Have you ever played a survival horror when an ominous danger approached and made you go, “Oh shit oh shit oh shit it’s coming this way what the fuck do I do OH MY GOD I’M GOING TO DIE!”?
We’re thinking of that. Something where you had to pause the game and take a breather because it was just too much for you, at that point. Tell us about it in the comments. And have a frightfully awesome Halloween.
