Find Out What Happend To Cole In Second Son…If You Get The Limited Edition
Day-One DLC creators have some sort of special place in hell reserved for them, I swear it. It’s probably the biggest kick in the nuts a gamer can experience, only bested by DLC that sometimes contains extremely important plot details required for, say, sequels (Yes, that’s you Mass Effect). But I’m almost certain there’s a little room even further down reserved for those that combine these two.
And that’s probably going to be populated by the people who thought it was a good idea to make the fate of Cole MacGrath a Day One DLC incentive.

Yesterday Sony announced two new Editions for Second Son, the inFamous sequel/reboot that is heading exclusively to the PS4 next February. First up is the Limited Edition, which will include the DLC expansion that allows layers to see what happened to Cole after the events of inFamous 2, and why we’re now following Delsin instead of him. This DLC, it was revealed, will not be made available anywhere else aside from this Limited Edition.
“Cole MacGrath’s actions in New Marias set in motion a chain of events leading to the now forceful occupation of Seattle by the oppressive Department of Unified Protection. Cole’s Legacy bridges this gap in time with a series of missions Delsin Rowe must complete that reveal unique insights into how the world of Infamous: Second Son came to be.”
Thankfully all pre-orders for Second Son will receive the automatic upgrade, which is good news for those planning to get it day-one. But what about those who aren’t, or can’t? What about those who won’t be picking up a console before February? Are we just supposed to live with the fact that we can’t play Cole’s final moments? Seems like a sour deal to me.
The more expensive Collector’s Edition will include the DLC, as well as a pretty cool Delsin beanie, exclusive cover, an in-game vest and a set of pins, decals and a DUP patch. The Collector’s package will retail for $80 in the USA, so expect something just above a direct conversion locally (if we get it at all). You can check it out below.
But seriously Sony, that’s not exactly the fan service I’m sure a lot of inFamous fans were expecting. I for one am pretty pissed off.
