What’s The Best And Worst Date Movie?
Like all great things that may or may not ultimately lead to the death of an innocent, this idea started out as a conversation amongst the eGamer staff because… well actually I have no idea how it started. One minute we were talking about harvesting the blood of a toddler (no, seriously that happened) and then suddenly date movies.
We tossed plenty of ideas around and settled on some criteria. It shouldn’t be a boring movie because there’s a difference between holding your date in your arms and holding their lolling head in your arms while fending off sleep drool.
Secondly, try and choose one with minimal sex scenes unless that’ll get him/her in the mood and do the foreplay for you. Conversely, if you’re going to be all over each other avoid animations just because we say so.
I can’t really think of any legitimate ground rules here, in fact the above was made up in the time between 23:09 and 23:11. You might get a better indication from what we, as a group had to say.
Personally I find movies such as American Psycho, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Iron Man 3 work rather well when trying to court a lady. They’re all rather romantic and sentimental.
What do you think are the best and worst date movies? Here’s what we think–add your choices to the comments below.
Worst Date Movie (if straight): Brokeback Mountain, guy will never get an erection that night. Also Pacific Rim, guy may orgasm long before the foreplay even starts. Also Twilight, because girl will get mushy and cry and shiz and no sex for you. Only if you’re lucky will she reward you for watching it with her.
Best Date Movie: Maybe New Moon? Seeing Jacob repeatedly take off his shirt may not get her hot for you, but you’ll get some anyway. Alternatively, maybe a horror movie, she’ll be all over you.

I’d include Dean’s opinion too but we’re presently trying to cast him as an asexual entity, much like the Wizard of Oz (thanks for ruining that too, James Franco). Actually Oz: The Great and Powerful was a good date movie too. We poked fun at the movie continuously, it was magical.
