Watch The Musical Alternate Ending To The Last Of Us
Yes, several months on we’re still talking about The Last of U. Granted, it is in line to be 2013’s game of the year once everyone picks their jaw up off the ground from playing GTA V. Assuming the GTA hype doesn’t wear off and this really does turn out to be one of this generation’s defining games.
Before we go any further, this article revolves around the ending of the game. Make your own assumptions regarding spoilers.

We’ve already heard about the very alternate ending to The Last of Us which Naughty Dog initially had planned. This one cast Tess as more of an antagonist and even seemed to have a her torturing Joel. Ellie’s character, easily one of the most stand out things in a stand out game, was also more passive. I much prefer the way things turned out in the end.
The ending that we eventually did get was conceived to play out a little differently. It would be a continuous cutscene rather than the interactive experience we got. Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann speaks briefly about it in the video above and then talks up something entirely different.
At the end of shooting the hospital scene, Druckmann decided to try something a little different. While I won’t spoil anything, major props to Troy Baker (Joel) for his improv skills.
Oh and this video is in celebration of the game’s success while also reminding that TLoU existed just in time for a DLC announcement later today.
